EFRS Educational Wing
The Educational Wing aims to promote anddevelop Radiography education and researchacross Europe.
Between 2002 until 2008 a number of educational institutions and professional societies were actively
involved in HENRE (Higher Education Network for Radiography in Europe), which was a Socrates/Erasmus
funded thematic network. This group merged with the EFRS and the establishment of the EFRS Educational
Wing was agreed by the EFRS General Assembly in 2010.
Since 2008 the number of cooperating educational institutions in the Educational Wing has grown from
the 21 founding institutions from 13 countries to 49 institutions from 25 countries in 2015.
The Educational Wing meets annually in March during the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) and since
2011, there is a concurrent radiography student meeting.
European Universities and other educational institutions which offer Radiography education are warmly invited to join the EFRS Educational Wing as EFRS Affiliate Member.
The annual meeting of the EFRS educational wing and the EFRS afternoon seminar will take place on Thursday the 3rd of March 2015 at the venue of the ECR congress.
It was firstly announced for the Wednesday, but now the ECR programme is known, the meeting appeared to coincide with the important scientific sessions below. Therefore the Educational Wing Management Team decided to change the date.
